Species: Draco terra lumos

The “Laser Earth Dragon”

Common name: Laser Lindwurm

Notes: This dragon resides in caves for most of its life and accustoms itself to terraforming the caverns around it with its laser focused fire breath. Many caverns discovered by archaeologists can be credited to Laser Lindwurms of old.

Species: Draco draco luceat

Common name: Common Shimmering Drake

Notes: This small species of dragon is born with metallic skin that shines like glitter. It grows no larger than the size of a cat, and it’s only defense in the wild is its poisonous blood. It’s glittering body acts as a warning to any predators who might claim its life. It is easily domesticated and thus a common first dragon for rookie keepers.

Species: Draco behemoth draco

The Primordial Dragon

Notes: All we know of this creature is the shape of its head, given that the only evidence of its existence is its skull, a mountain of hollow bone which houses thousands of dragons. Many theories have sprung up on the nature of the skull, none ever truly proven. The most commonly accepted is that this dragon is the predecessor to the entirety of the draconic bloodline, the first of its kind.

The Dracorot Virus

D-Rot is a deadly plague that affects many dragons. When most species of the Draco family contract it, their scales and skin start to rot away, leaving a necrotic scar in its place. It is possible to treat and cure the disease if the afflicted dragon is in the hands of a capable keeper. Those in the wild aren’t so lucky, more often than not enduring a slow and painful death.

Species: Draco mechanis aurem

The “Golden Mechanoid Dragon”

Common name: The Clanking Gold Sniffer

Notes: The mechanis genus of dragons is a unique breed, as they are entirely man made. The Gold Sniffer is among the first mechanoid dragons created, with the intent of locating gold with ease. They were also among the first mechanoids to gain sentience, a phenomenon still being studied today. Thanks to new laws, a mechanoid that gains sentience is to be freed into the wild. Wild Gold Sniffers live in caves and build their dens from the gold they are compelled to search for.

Species: Draco behemoth celeste

The “Sun Dragon King”

Common name: Crested Sun Titan

Notes: Not much is known of behemoth dragons. No other creature has reached their size, and they are said to have lived for millennia. The Sun Titan is one of the more well known behemoths, as it tends to proudly march among the dragon continent, displaying its fiery core for all to see. The rays of destruction that this dragon can cast could level mountains.
